Heaven on earth is not just a myth or religious concept, but rather is associated with an exalted, creative and ecstatic state of mind and body. This Heaven is not something that existed only in some distant past, but has been experienced by many people through the ages on into the modern world. This exalted state can be described as being built upon five basic elements or characteristics that are individually experienced by almost everyone, yet are also hidden under false descriptions from a society that discourages adults from experiencing them. The acceptance of the idea of a Heaven on earth may be made easier with the realization that there is a self-created Hell on earth. The existence of this Hell is, surprisingly, generally accepted in society even though it is not commonly discussed. Hell on earth, like Heaven on earth, can be described with five separate elements using words that are well known and accepted. The five elements of Heaven and Hell can also be perceived to be variants of five elements that describe the normal Social world as listed in the following table.
Perhaps the majority of readers will identify themselves as shifting often from a Social element to the corresponding element of Hell and less frequently shifting to the right towards Heaven. In thinking of the elements that describe Heaven, you will probably start to feel concern, fear or an aversion to what the words suggest. The aversion results primarily from the shifting of the actual meaning of the words over many centuries. This shift in the original meanings has made the elements to have very negative characteristics in today's materialistic world. However, the original meanings of the words were quite positive. As an introduction to the accurate descriptions of the meanings of the words of the elements of Heaven, first consider the world of 'first love'. Most individuals would probably list their 'first love' as being the closest example of what they might have called Heaven on earth and generally can remember quite vividly their inner feelings as well as their frustrations. A generalized listing of the various inner feelings and changes that occur during first love are 1) intense vitality or quickening , 2) union and oneness, 3) a 'high' or craziness, 4) the thrill of physical sensual contact and 5) the power of becoming a new person. Every single one of these characteristics, however, is considered to be in conflict with modern society which requires everyone to be conforming and integrated into its whole. Families, employers, religions, and groups, in general, do not long tolerate any individual with the above characteristics or elements of first love. Children, however, experience some of the elements of Heaven in their imaginative games. Adults quietly experience them during intense joy and success. Some of the elements are also found when individuals become 'lost' in sharing ideas and experiences with others. Heaven on earth is approached during creative moments, when the world appears to open and yields up its resources; or more commonly, in the moments of threat or demands when an inner strength, will, and knowledge suddenly rise within you to meet the challenge. This book looks closely
at the characteristics of evolving and joyfully creative individuals
and their Heavens and describes how these characteristics can be re-found
and used to build your own Heaven on earth. |
